I've been quiet in this battle, but voting none the less. I'm hesitant to reassign my staff to work on this, but am considering it.

Well, looks like HunterBot made it through. As did BJ. We have our work cut out for us whenever we face off with him.

Still awaiting an updated bracket for this week, but the image placeholders on tailgaterivals.com suggests the battle will be AL#2 vs. AQ#7 and AL#7 vs. AQ#2. I think that breaks down to the following:
BJ coasted to a win over Terry from Mississippi State with more than 10K votes.
Lucas got over 15,000 votes in beating down Cameron from OU by a margin of nearly 5-1.
Hunter manufactured 313,343 votes in eking out a narrow win over Eric from LSU (who put together 311,701 votes).
ETA:
Brackets are now set as indicated above. BJ v. Maggie and Hunter v. Lucas. Voting was not yet opened when I last checked (11:06 AM), but it should be coming around soon.

Maggie (Ole Miss) v. BJ (LSU)
Lucas (OK State) v. Hunterbot (LSU)

Just getting on. Dang last I checked Eric was winning.

Yeah, I got on this morning and was throwing votes for Eric several times, but no matter how many times I voted or checked, Hunter's numbers were jumping huge amounts.
It's gonna be another long week when we (assumedly) face off against Hunter and his bots.

We won't win legitimately. Might as well admit that. It'll be nye week. Everyone busy and no one working.

As the voice of reason guy, no they weren't, at least not anymore than Eric's were. For the last two hours they literally traded vote for vote. As I've been watching and voting the last several days, this has been pretty much the theme. Either both were using interesting strategies, or neither were.
Why am I the only voice of reason in this thread?
And yes, you against him will probably break the site.

quote:What are the group's thoughts on planning an all-out vote push for HunterBot's opponent? I'd hate to support Lucas/OSU over LSU, but we seem to be near the limit of our group's voting power. Our 280K was an amazing feat against VinnyBot, and this week's 311K reflects a LOT of work by everyone. If it ends up BJ v. Hunter in the final round, there could be nearly a million votes cast...
We won't win legitimately.

why do you give a shite about the bots? its a website designed to vote as many times as possible. just set up a mouse script and be done with it. no chance anyone is fighting fair on this thing, do what ya gotta do to get the W and that sweet booty

I'm all for voting for lucas but I'm not sure how much good it will do.

BJ got this email just now.
Voting will be made available on your voting page at 12:00PM Noon Central Time today!
BJ vs Maggie
Hunter vs Lucas
There will be Zero Tolerance when it comes to cheating, if we suspect cheating we will disqualify you, this is your only warning!
As always, we're excited for these match-ups and we thank you for your interest and participation.
Good Luck!

Voting is open, by the way. BJ up 62 to 3 in the early going.

As the guy who literally did what I said, yes they were.
I checked twice this morning. Both times I'd check the scores and then refresh the page after about ten seconds. Both times I did that, Eric's jumped up by anywhere from 6-8, and Hunter's jumped up 10-12.
I'm not saying I sat there and tracked them like some have in this thread, but both times I checked, Hunter's were moving faster than Eric's were.

You're the only one stating the obvious, and you keep saying it over and over. And over. That doesn't make you a voice of reason as much as just someone repeating the obvious. Over and over.
Clearly there are scripts being run for everyone. Even us. We aren't stupid. But all we can do is publicly ask that people don't do that since it's against the rules (not that the site seemingly gives many fricks about rules anyway apparently).

Read the email bbap posted, that's why. They don't even make it clear what's approved ways to vote.

If this is all about "legit votes," then we will run away with it IMO.

Exactly. And I'd bet that it's us by a TON.

Truth. I can't wait for this to be over with. I'm too invested to stop now.
