My guess is you have not looked at any of your stock funds recently (401k, etc.). Glad you paid so little for gas though!

I suspect that while it was no doubt nice, you didn't start this thread solely to share your good fortune.

I have to fill my truck up 3-4 times a week and this has been great. I feel bad for the people out of work, but man this has been a boost to my bottom line.

Just curious, I am vaguely familiar with what you do, so I know a Prius/Tesla won't exactly fill your needs in each situation. However, have you looked at adjusting your fleet to more fuel efficient since this relatively cheap gas has been around for almost a year and appears to be staying another 6-12 months?

In some huge irony, I'm going to buy some truck nuts with the money I saved on gas

Cost me around $35 to fill my truck up right now. At 1 point I was at $90. Even if I'm only saving $40 per fill up and I fill up every 4-5 days, that's about $240/month I'm saving at the pump.

Won't be retiring for 20 years so I'm appreciating buying the market at a discount too.

There is never a good time for your 401k to struggle. Never.

I do get the effect it has on the Louisiana economy, but the shaming of people who are somewhat happy about the prices is absurd. "Well I hope you're enjoying that little bit of extra money because I'm out of a job!! You should want to pay more!"

I'm sorry guy, were you volunteering to take a paycut when the prices were reaching record highs to help makes things more affordable? I didn't think so.

The guy complaining about this is usually your typical Walton and Johnson listener that posts pictures of his pay stub bitching about all of the taxes he's paying going to free loaders. But when it affects you, hey you're all for people subsidizing your income.

Again I completely understand the effect it's having on the whole, but trying to make people feel bad about it is stupid. There's nothing I can do about it, so I'm not going to apologize for filling up at a cheaper cost.

$1.50 in Denver. 401K isn't doing so well this year, but I'm only 27. This is a great time to invest all of my extra money into that stock market. Ask a truck nut baw about his 401k and he won't even know what you are talking about.
