I tried the Money Board 20 minutes ago, but no responses yet.

On 4/14/2016, I submitted my State Tax Refund electronically for a $500 refund.

I checked the state site today with my SSN etc, and I received this message

"Your Refund information is currently unavailable for this tax period. If you filed electronically, please check again in 60 days. If you filed a paper return, please check again in 14 weeks from the day you filed your return."

Anyone else have this problem? It's like they never received it. (I could understand "pending" or "under review")

Any advice is appreciated.

I believe they were taking forever due to state budget concerns?

I filed mine in February and it took a long time to finally go through.

Took over 2 months to get mine back and I filed in February. I'm sure it will take you at least 3 months

Yeah I gave up on the state returns. They try to frick us with everything else. Why expect that the same standard be held for government entities.

you need to contact them ASAP or your CPA/Attorney does. It could be a budgetary issue OR they could have screwed something up OR the filing has not gone through correctly. You need to get an answer though in the event you need to refile or submit additional documents.

Not a big deal and it happens frequently.

But you need to hold their hand through the process and make sure the return processes correctly and you receive your refund.

Document everything in a journal style with dates and names of those you spoke with. Write down exactly what they tell you.

Follow up on a weekly basis until it is complete.

Call them. I ran into this problem last year. Within a few minutes they were able to tell me that I made a mistake on my return and allow me to correct the error.

I received my check a couple of weeks after I called them.

I know this doesn't help much but to give you an idea...I filed ours on May 16th and we received our refund on June 15th. You may want to look into your situation further.

The same thing happened to me a few years ago. Turned out that there's a common tax scam where people file on your SSN before you do and make the numbers work to get a refund. When the government gets your real return, it's flagged because they've already processed a return on your SSN. I'm, not saying that's what happened here but I got the same status responses then. Good luck, it wasn't too big a deal to get fixed but it took almost a year for me to actually get my refund. From now on, I won't be waiting till the last minute to file.

I am having the same issue. I have tried calling them a few times but I get a recording telling they are experiencing high call volume and to call back later and it disconnects.

I filed back in March and still don't have mine. Maybe I will get it by 2017.
