Who gives a frick. There might be a specific reason why they do that, I had a class with a guy who had to carry a gallon water jug with him everywhere because he had some type of issue where he had to stay hydrated because his body didn't hold fluid like it is suppose to.. Nothing is more douchey than dudes who sit around and see what people are doing then go to a message board and judge.

It's not the desire to stay hydrated that is problematic but rather the idea that you need to carry around a literal gallon of water at all times to ensure that you meet your targeted daily fluid intake. Just take note of how many cups of water you drink or how many times you fill up a small bottle and you'll still be solid.

It's just another characteristic synonymous with 'bro' culture that is pretty obnoxious.

Its incredibly douche, a liter bottle is fine. Its not like you are drinking that entire gallon in the next 60 minutes before you literally walk by 10 sources of water that you can refill you liter bottle. A gallon jug is incredibly uncomfortable to carry, is it really that hard to figure out you need to refill your liter 4 times a day? If one day you drink 3 liters and the next 5, its really not going to change anything.

Women are incredibly clingy and gym rat women have very low self esteem, thats why many of them have to work out constantly to feel good about themselves. So belonging to a workout group and feeling good about it helps them feel great about themselves. Whatever works I guess.
