FWIW, try to get in as a DD somewhere. Weatherford would be my first choice

Is the great shift change, try to speak to someone with experience for direction. Automation and Controls seem to be good as well as subsea umbilicals. But don't ask me. As far as the questions, just be your self and don't get caught up in the mind games.

Big Blue asked me a bunch of safety questions, like "If you're driving to the rig and your family calls you with an emergency what do you do?" and then they berate you for saying you'd answer your phone while on the road. Fun stuff like that.

Pathfinder's interview was hilariously easy, all I had to do was show up and they offered me a postion.

I got an offer from big red for slickline and turned it down.

Constantly debating with myself on whether or not that was the stupidest thing I've ever done.

Small world. I ran MWD/LWD for HES right up until the buyout with Pathfinder. They were laying people off by the dozens.

Poor bastards move from across the country, pay taxes on their cars to get LA plates and laid off with 2 weeks pay 6 months later.

The oilfield rocks when times are good but it can go in the crapper pretty quick.

You poor bastard.

Well Im going to guess you are a bit younger than me so enjoy the free fri freds and fresh crops of young dumb sluts while ya can.

I have decided I am going to relive my beginning years of college the first year or two out so it should be fun, about like being freshman but with a much larger drinking budget.

I got asked which PSL I wanted to go in and was pretty much told I was getting an offer. Picked the PSL and location, got the offer, turned it down.

Got caught up in the amount of money my current job offered me. The grass ain't always as green as it looks.
