The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit Monday sided with 11 red states that sued the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) over its promulgated efficiency standards for dishwashers and washing machines, ruling that “it is unclear the DOE has any statutory authority to regulate water use in dishwashers and clothes washers.”

The court also stated in its opinion that, even if it does have that authority and the agency had water-usage authority over these appliances, it failed to consider the “negative consequences” of the standards, which would have the opposite effect of their intent.

Congress needs to gut these three letter agencies.

Once you realize their goal is to reduce the population size it will all make more sense.

Supreme Court will soon decide a case that will likely strongly curtail agency power. Hoping Roberts doesn’t frick it up.

These people think that when the water disappears down the drain is disappears from the universe forever. The earth has just about the exact same amount of water it's had since "not long" after it became a planet.

Without organizations like the EPA we become a 3rd world country. You want your rivers to look like India?

The only people that don't like the EPA are large corporations, like chemical companies. Somehow Joe citizen has been brainwashed by big corporations. They "lobby" congressman/senators, which we all know a senator can be bought for a few hundred thousand. After that senator gets his money from these corporations he will tell his voters anything the big corporations want them to say.
Joe public is left living in a polluted country while they sentators and corporations laugh all the way to the bank.

Somewhere you guys got brainwashed thinking nature is bad and big cooperation are good.

The annoying this is that this is all driven by trying to turn desert into farmland in southern California, as well as supporting a growing population. Water usage isn’t really a huge issue elsewhere.

Imagine regulating a mandate that an inferior product must be designed so that we can feel good about doing something, even though it does such a poor job multiple washes are done, resulting in a net waste of water.

Then imagine applying the mandate to the entire country because a small section insists to live in desert.

Worst part? This ruling isn’t really a win. Manufacturers will be very very slow to switch back.

I’d rather have the courts do it, so Congress doesn’t come back and frick up again in the future.

Hate to tell you Congress granted tham the authority in theory. Now the courts have repeatedly rejected that for the EPA exceeding the authority granted. However that doesn't stop the EPA from doing it over and over and over and over and over again. But Congress is not going to be the one to reign them in because they created a monster out of laziness. This is the swamp, the political one.

BS.....the EPA was not created to make up fantasy laws without Congressional over site. The only solution is for Congress to get off their butts and review every regulation these idiots dream up.

Manufacturing in this country pays over a trillion dollars a year because of needless regulations.

This Administration creates crap that will not enhance manufacturing but will needlessly cost the public
all for the fantasy of climate change.

If the gas stove BS goes forth ....this will eliminate the jobs in 11 manufacturers for a needless cause. Out of fourteen manufacturers of gas stoves only three are expected to survive.

I had two staff members that did nothing but Federal paperwork concerning scrapping plate steel ....Two wasted positions that I needed somewhere else .....

Your position is pure BS because you don't understand the impact of stupidity ....

Damn - this x1000.
Looked for incandescent flood light bulbs to keep some heat on the pool equipment and lime trees. No dice - all crappy led.

If I have to spend this summer with a broken pool and no limes…

While I get the sentiment of the thread, if you can't see the advantages of LED's over incandescent, then we can't help you.
