I've always wondered if the " fix" to this would be for airlines to modify the very last row to be a LARGE seat and an aisle seat on each side. So essentially, each plane would have two seats to accomodate extra-large people ("Fatties" as the OT calls them). I think the seat should be offered at a price-point somewhere between a single economy seat and the price of two seats and airlines should reserve the right to move an extra-large passenger to these seats if available or...if purchased and occupied by a normal size person, to swap the seats.

It is a problem - - and neither fat-shaming by other passengers nor the airlines sticking their heads in the sand will fix it. I am not a fat shamer - - but, I also do not want to cramped in the space I paid for.

But what the hell are you doing in a middle seat? Even with two normal sized humans that is a miserable experience. Pay up to select the right seat.
