Sometimes my schedule only allows me to throw in a day of fasting when I workout. Will this counterbalance the effects of either?

Fasting is about restricting your calories. I try to fast 16 hours each day but If I miss a day here or there its no big deal. Think week end calorie total rather than is this still working?

dont complicate it

If I work out on a completely empty stomach my blood sugar craters and I get extremely nauseated. So that's something to consider.

I just started working out last week at 4pm 4 days/week. Just finished up a burger, large fry, medium coke, and medium chocolate shake. Should I vomit?

Seems like it would be better to fast on days you dont workout

The muscle building takes place while resting, though. Clearly the answer is don't fast.

I've been working out at 5AM while fasting from 8PM -11AM for about 4 months now. I'm as strong as I've ever been and my body fat has dropped from 15 to 9%.( 6'1 195)

BCAAs are key. but the Lean Gains approach is amazing.

I would probably die if I worked out on a fast. That or the very least my workout would suck balls and not even be worth my time.

Do you usually fast before your workouts?

Give it a shot. Im telling you. Its amazing. 5g BCAA's + whatever Preworkout drink with less than 25 calories = best pump you've ever gotten.

Plenty of articles on working out fasted. The part I find most interesting (and have experienced myself) the reaction of your adrenal glands to working out fasted is a crazy feeling. Puts your body into fight or flight mode.

I workout at 530am. I have a BCAA serving intraworkout. I fast from 9pm-11:30am daily. Only coffee and water otherwise.

On some days I'll extend the fasting period til around 5pm when I feel like hitting up a 2000 calorie Blue Oak dinner.

I do fine without it.

I'm not denouncing it. If it gets you to your goals then fine do it. It would just be unnecessary for me IMO.

Take 3 scoops of C4 and you'll be fine before the workout

Just finished working out, probably one of the better workouts I've had in a long time. I won't do it often, because I know our body's react differently on certain days.
