Rough Sex + OD gets boyfriend 25 years. (W/ update on Mom)

Herrera was not charged with murder. He was convicted of assaulting someone in a dating relationship, a first-degree felony. Herrera's defense lawyer argued that she died of an overdose.
The medical examiner's office ruled the cause of death "undetermined."
No update on charges to the mom, though there are some pending.

Based on the evidence presented, you have manslaughter at the very least, even if you can't prove this was premeditated (which it sounds like it wasn't).
But yeah, a guy gets blasted on whiskey and hydrocodone, then chokes her unconscious/to death? I'm not able to generate much sympathy.

The mom deserves most of the blame for this... what high schoolers need two bottles of whiskey and 20 LT's

I'm just wondering if that was even possible for the DA to prove. The ME said there was no way to determine if she OD'd or asphyxiated first.
The mom should have some hefty charges coming her way.

Related note. I've heard of parents around here buying their kids a bottle of booze of their choice for graduation because they thought the kids said they would "get it elsewhere" if the parents didn't. What the heck kind of logic is that? Tell them to kiss that prom goodbye baw.

he choked her out lol, the fact she OD was horrible enough as it is, but the media makes it sound like she was choked to death ontop of that.
Either way kids mom is a POS for helping him cover it up like that, more over a bigger POS for giving the kids drugs and then a hotel room so they could bang all night and then showing up promptly in the AM to pick them up.

I cant believe the mom got off so light. I guess giving kids drugs and promoting sex isnt so bad never mind helping cover up a dead body.
