As do the blacks that I know are very progressive and support the system. Unfortunately for Baton Rouge if you work for positive results for everyone you are considered an Uncle Tom. Your efforts must be for blacks only otherwise you are no longer supported.

has anyone here actually done anything beyond bitching on a TD message board about racism (against blacks or whites), the complete incompetence and racism of the Baton Rouge government or the pandering and pretending everything is OK that is currently taking place in NOLA? We bitch and complain about the SJWs and how the mainstream media and population seem to bow down to the problematic sources of these issues, but is that it? Is that all we do is type messages to each other and get all worked up and angry but not actually do anything about it ourselves? Are we waiting on someone else to stick their neck out there and do the hard work? Let me be the first to say that I have not done anything as I am exactly that person I just described. But, I’m curious if anyone here has made any real effort to bring light to any of these problems? If so, what have you done?

I don't know about you, but life today is too complicated to take the time to get to know people. I mean, who has that much free time? Not me

Most posters on here just overthink this whole racist crap. I find it more more efficient to look at someone and judge them, then move on.

I don't know why there are so many downvotes. People do bitch and complain and just watch the same ole shite happen every day, every month, every year.. And people will say "well, what can I do". I wish more, new people would start running for public office. That's a way to start keeping things more in check..

And before anyone says "well why don't you run for public office?". I did, about 12-13 years ago I posted link but it only took you to the "pick date" area so I took a screenshot I am about to post.

Its at the bottom. District V. Chris Williams.

And I plan to do it again..

I was the youngest candidate by almost 20 years. After the primary race, I gain the support of the guy who finished 3rd, one of the candidates didn't commit to anyone after the election (at least that's what he said) and the other candidates went with the guy who won.

After the runoff results came in, the number of votes I had in the primary plus the number of votes the guy who came in 3rd was almost equal the numbers I had in the runoff. The district I was in has a high voter turnout and just about everyone who voted in the primary voted in the runoff. In the runoff I pretty much maintained the number of votes in the primary and everyone who voted for the guy in 3rd voted for me.

The guys who finished 4th and 5th were much older (in their 60s, one maybe in his 70s). Evidently they were extremely pissed that I was in the election.. Both thought they would have won if I didn't "steal" votes from them.

It took me awhile to get over it because I hate fricking losing.

The majority of the people in the district are democrat (with that said, many were "old democrats" based on the previous results from the precincts. Several years before that, that part of the parish started to favor republican candidates), but in local elections party really doesn't play that big of a factor.

When I first announced I was entering the election, everywhere I would go in town someone would tell me "I know you mean well, but there is a really good chance you could finish with the least amount of votes". I broke down every aspect of the district and well... If I have the data to break down, I will find "weaknesses" in terms of ways I could take advantage of what assumably would be in favor of other candidates. Deciding not to change party before registering for the election was one of those advantages.

Not a mexican. In South Louisiana, there are several prominent Islano families by the last names: Diez, Martinez (pronounced Martin-ez), Gonzales, and Hernandez. They have Spanish last names, but they look and sound like coonasses.

They were Canary Islanders brought here by the Spanish Governor Galvez to serve as soldiers in case the french citizens decided to rebel against the Spanish government. They were used extensively in the campaign against the British during the revolutionary war. Afterwords, their knowledge of rice cultivation became key for the local agricultural economy.

Now you know something.

Oweo, I'd love to learn more about your foray into politics. I'm looking to do the same soonish. Shoot me an email at bryndenblackfish@yahoo.com
