I followed these guys at one point I think, but IIRC I stopped because these guys are just total cheese dicks.

About 4500 people have summited Everest and about 300 have died trying. It is too risky to attempt bringing the bodies down at high altitude, so many of them remain.

There's a great book called "The Lost Explorer: finding Mallory"

It details a professional mountaineer's story of finding George Mallory on Everest. Mallory disappeared during his final push to the summit back in the 1920s. It's been debated whether he was able to reach the top before Hillary.

The author retraces their route, including free climbing the Second Step, to determine whether it was possible for Mallory to have reached the summit using 1920s equipment.

Awesome read.

Pretty common with hikers really. Here's some pics of my hikes up Driskell.

The snaps today are pretty incredible.

Adrian's GF updating the fans while hanging 200' in the air was a nice touch.

How many Sherpas did you employ? Did you make it to the summit without any assistance of supplemental oxygen?

Zero. Couldn't work out the travel arrangments from Napal to Arcadia. I just grabbed a guy from the Best Western in Ruston.

Technically no on the first trip (asthma inhaler). Did on the 2nd.

Yes, username is EverestNoFilter

They have a YouTube channel as well if you want to watch all their snaps from the beginning, which I'd suggest. It's been very interesting to follow for the past month or so

Currently resting for a couple of hours. They will start their summits at different times. I've been following them for over a year. I think it's incredible pictures and videos they are able to post. I'm extremely jealous while I'm sitting in a cubicle and they are out hiking.

How are these guys able to get connectivity from that altitude?? Seems like cell service would be non existent.

They use a portable satellite for data. Lots of solar batteries.

They just showed a dead body on the trail
Man, I was not expecting that when I watched the story just now. So crazy to see that person just lying there in very sophisticated/modern climbing gear. I mean, I don't know what else they'd be wearing, but it just looked like a regular person taking a nap in the snow.

She's already climbed a 29,000ft mountain, what's another 6 inches?

So yeah the dead body was pretty surreal. I can't wait to see these guys on the summit. For those not following, they're 2000ft from the summit which will take them close to 14hrs to climb. Early tomorrow morning central time they should be there depending on weather

Why is the north face so much more popular than the south face or whichever side they are climbing now.
