I have been summoned 3 or 4 times. Was on a jury once for a civil case. It wasn't bad, it was only a two day trial. Good break from work and I get paid by work for jury juty.

Twice. Both were slip and fall cases against casinos. Fun to watch.

I go next week. Have a few times before. Never a major trial, usually traffic stuff and dui.

No
Yes
No, I read a book
I was going to be on a jury for a thug that murdered his pregnant girlfriend. Things got tense when the prosecution and defense attorney started questioning potential jurors how the felt about feticide. It was tense with the defendant sitting in the courtroom while all this was going on. The defendant ended up making a plea deal, so we were let go.

I just told the judge my feelings on jury nullification.
Was promptly dropped.
J/k- in real life I told the judge all of my connections to various members of the bar, DA's office, and LE, and neither side wanted me.

Tried getting out of it as I had 2 tests that week back in BR. Still got selected. First day of trial I fainted and pissed myself in the jury box. I got dismissed right after.

I sat on a Capital Murder case. It lasted two weeks. We ended up finding him guilty of manslaughter and aggravated child abuse. I believe he got 15 years for each charge. I'm sure its been / being appealed.

I was summoned once, and got it delayed due to a work situation. I didn't have to report any of the days that I was assigned after that.
I wouldn't mind being on a jury.

I've been called in about 6 times. Did not try to avoid.Never picked for the jury, lawyers don't want white male civics teachers

Been summoned 4 times.
First two was in college and was excused.
Third time I went but it is a pain because you have to go to downtown Houston. It was a drug case and my view on drugs (ie basically would amount to jury nullification) didn't make any friends with the prosecution.
Fourth time I just check off the box that someone would be left without "adequate" care thus excused.

I got summoned twice in college and got out of it because I was away at college.
I just had jury duty for the first time in September. It wasn't at the main courthouse downtown. It was a justice of the peace court and they settled all of the cases so we all got to go home.
We just sat in the courtroom for a couple hours and some of the cops entertained us with stories. We took a break for 10 minutes, came back and assigned us seating, then the judge talks for a little bit and told us we were all free to go.
We were out by lunch time.

Got summoned the week after I turned 18 in high school. My dad knew the DA and called him so I was excused.

I thought attorneys were exempt from jury duty

I had a professor that was an ex US Attorney out of St Louis. She said the american justice system does not provide you with a jury of your peers, but provides you with a jury of people too stupid to get out of jury duty. Truth. No, I haven't ever been on jury duty.

Sat the first day on second day was part of pool for a murder case and was in first group and 14 called up for interviews. Was extremely unnerving sitting across from a defendant taking notes while his lawyer asked very personal questions about your personal life, like where do you work where does your spouse work etc. After several hours was dismissed not because I wasn't chosen but because the judge read the list backwards and
and before they realized the mistake we were on the elevator down.

But nobody is going to put a lawyer or judge on a jury so they never actually serve on a jury. But they do get summoned.
