Honey, how about you take care of that snake while I sit and watch?

I doubt that.

BRIEFLY owned.

She went through all channels to obtain an exotic animal. Picked it up at IAH. And it immediately bit her ass. About 6' long. Fit in a pillowcase.

How does one properly dispose of a snake? Is flushing a suitable method??

Used to have one, cept she was around 6 feet. Closer to when it was feeding time at the end of the week, she would start to wrap herself around my arms or body (like as if to choke me to eat me) kinda scarey

I'd imagine that you would have to cut him up into small pieces to do that....unless he was a little grass snake

The go to method is to usually throw them in the bayou....or let the harmless ones go.

About ten years ago I was in Cleveland for a rowing competition. I saw this women pushing a stroller while carrying a big arse snake around her neck.

I hope her snake wasn't in charge of babysitting.

Don't know what it is about the state of Illinois and irresponsible snake ownership but the same thing happened a few years ago in Illinois with a much more tragic outcome. Poor little 3 year old boy with bad parents that had either a Burmese python or Rock python (not sure which) that escaped it's cage. The snake was about 6 feet long and getting to the point that it was almost too big for the container it was kept in and far too large to safely keep in the same house as a small child. Sure enough the snake pushed the stone holding the container top on and crawled out of its container late one night. The snake slithered into bed and squeezed the life out of the 3 year old boy who was fast asleep. The snake didn't eat the kid. The parent woke up the following morning to find a lifeless 3 year old boy in his bed.

No one should be permitted to keep large snakes or poisonous snakes as pets.

The large snakes are now all over the Everglades.

Note: I'm not against snakes. They eat rats. Native snakes are helpful.

I had a large rock python (12'). Got rid of it before first kid was born. Common sense says not to have constrictors around children

Au contraire!

It should be allowed.

Gotta remove the dumb from the gene pool somehow.

All the excessive 'protect you from yourself' regulations do is allow stupid people to survive despite their stupidity. Idiocracy scenario writ large.

Now, WRT to the snake's owner... if that snake had killed the kid she should be charged with murder.

Since it didn't she should be charged as if it was her that slithered into the baby's crib and tried to eat the baby's foot.

What's missing in this country is accountabilty.

If you had a pet snake and knew that if it got out and hurt somebody that you would be criminally liable (not just civil) then maybe you would reconsider having a dangerous animal as a pet.

ACCOUNTABILITY and PERSON RESPONSIBILITY would go a long way to righting what is wrong in America.

Statism (ie you suggesting that the force of government should be used to ban things YOU don't like) is always a dead end -- what you want to use the jackboot of government to stand on today will become that jackboot standing on your neck tomorrow... for example the crackdown on tobacco.

First it was cigarettes, next it was soda. Next?
