ETA: I kind of regret not doing Engineering. If someone put it in simple terms to me when I was in high school, i think i would have done engineering. Do you want to build and create shite? Then major in Engineering. Maybe I was just too obsessed with the Human condition as a 17-18 year old.

Law School is in my future. Either that or drug dealing because this degree ain't worth shite - its been fun though

Congrats. I've been an EI for almost a year now (Louisiana is stupid and calls us Engineering Interns instead of Engineer in Training). I assume you're a civil major?

I'm expecting an offer tomorrow...a bit of a transition...from alone in a cube doing analyses to traveling and being the customer contact (sales if you will) basically setting up projects and interpreting the customer's needs - I think. I'm scared as frick. Turned 40 this year though, maybe scared is good?

Graduated 01 and finally came to my senses and took PE in 09. Studied for 6months. Never too late. You may not need it now, but you could benefit down the road.

PE in civil here.

Good luck!

You will learn ALOT over the next several years while being an EIT. School only teaches you the basics. Work will teach you the application in the real working environments.

Well congrats. You've taken it farther than I likely ever will.

My goal is to get a bachelors and worry about the rest later.

Even if you are 90% certain you'll never need it, it's dumb to not get your EI and PE

You never know where your career will take you, so if you have the qualifications to get them, you should

I'm going to be an EIT pretty soon. As far as a PE, I'm not so sure. The company I signed on with doesn't have a PE for me to work under that I know of.

All bullshite aside,

Nothing but respect for yall who have made it to that point.

Personally, I thought the PE was easier than the FE, but that's probably because my workload at the time was a lot of things very similar to the test

Instead of studying a lot, I just tried doing more tasks by hand at work instead of using computer programs
