Stopped at the Walgreen's to grab a few things and the methy looking lady in front of me is buying a Coke and a bag of chips. Whips out her EBT card to pay. Then whips out a big roll of cash to pay for her two pack of cigarettes and says to the cashier "It's bullshite they won't let me put these on my card."

I, naively I guess, thought EBT was for groceries. You can buy snacks and shite with my tax dollars now?

They can even buy energy drinks with EBT as long as the ingredients are listed as nutrition facts on the package.

quote:

Energy drinks that are sold as food and labeled with “Nutrition Facts” are EBT approved. Energy drinks that are sold as supplements and labeled with “Supplement Facts” are not EBT approved. Red Bull, Monster, Rockstar, and Bang energy drinks are all EBT approved.

Did you watch her get into her brand new Escalade also? That's usually how these copy and paste stories end.

No. She went and stood on the side of the store, propped up against a garbage can and was lighting a cig as I drove off.

Go use your EBT card to buy something healthy since I apparently offended you.

Maybe don't be so quick to judge. She could be meal prepping those for the week.

Went to Pluckers yesterday with the fam. 4 of the 5 handicap spots had cars in them, no handicap plates. They did have the blue tag on the mirror tho.

Louisiana is fricked.

A moment that accelerated my departure from Louisiana was being in Whole Foods and the woman in front of me in pajama pants bought about $120 worth of solely high price juiced with her EBT card. I remember staring in disbelief as I always assumed there were rules around that but apparently not.

She then strolled her juices out to a new Infiniti SUV and I decided I was leaving and also going to figure out how to reduce my tax burden.

If you really want to get mad, I'll sit down with you and explain other bullshite that your tax dollars pay for. You'll be wishing it was just limited to snacks.

The soft drink and chip manufacturers would howl like a smashed kitty if they were exempted from the windfall that is EBT for them and retail chains and farmers and the like....WalMart would no longer exist if it were not for food stamps. The Walton heirs gotta make a buck somehow....

How to beat the system.

1. Have babies, but NEVER get married to the daddy.
2. Claim yourself as single mom with no/low income to get on WIC and Medicaid.
3. Baby daddy lives with you full time, but doesn't claim you or kids on taxes.
4. Baby daddy has job that pays for Netflix, nail salons, car, beer, cigarettes, etc.
