Meanwhile in China, the Beipanjiang Bridge, the highest bridge in the world, was just completed at a cost of about $140 Million. How fricked are we?

In all fairness, they have Asians that make their decisions.

More like, how fricked are they!

The infrastructure in China is shite, for the most part, except for Shanghai and other tourist cities.

Besides, that info came from state-run news, so I GUARANTEE that it was strife with overages and handouts, and nowhere near that number.

I'm guessing we spent $600 mil. of that on studies and consultants. Then 5 years later study it again.

It amazes me how much money it takes to do simple road construction.

EBR has been under construction for 35 years and will be for another 35. It's just a fact at this point.

You mean traffic didn't get any better after the government stepped in?

I'm certainly not gonna knight fir the Chicomms, but it is pitiful that we spend so much for so little on roads, at the local and state level. We're all about to get hosed again when JBE raises the gas tax by another $.30/gallon. we'll be told the raise is necessary to keep up the infrastructure, but we'll all still be driving on antiquated, poorly built/maintained, undersized roads. Louisiana excels at the suck when it comes to roads.

Remember when they said casinos and the state lottery would be used for roads and education.... Good times...

That's a cool bridge but I don't get how ten years of EBR parish spending relates or compares to one major project in china. If you compared it to the new roads/st francisville bridge at $400 million I would get it.

But they are studying a cool tram to go from LSU to downtown, and a train to New Orleans.

now if you all could use some of that Money to deal with the Bridge Congestion, and the bottleneck coming off it and taking 10 East, it would be money well spent.
