of course this money is earmarked to fix the already crumbling NOLA streets... but who needs to do that

Nola doesn't need you dumb hicks from the suburbs. We have plenty of conventions and tourists to pay the bills

My parents are selling their house in the quarter. They just can't deal with the idiocy anymore.

They also don't want to give the city any more of their money.

A big portion of the huge french quarter "crime budget allocation" a while back after one of the big shootings went to buying a Hundred new license plate reading vans. One of the higher ups even mocked the relation between parking too close to a corner and committing a crime.

New Orleans definitely has areas that are "shitholes," but to say the entire city is one is kind of a moronic thing to say in my opinion. There are really nice areas and places in the city.
