In the continental US. Connection to the south/SEC football. Some of the best US beaches within a few hours, Nashville within 2 hours, UT football within an hour. Atlanta within driving distance. Very low COL, beautiful scenery, experiences all 4 seasons without extremes with any of them.

Bonus: Lots of Hillbillies but they’re super nice people from what I’m experiencing. Just went to wal marks and actually had an employee help me and went to get what I was looking for out of the back instead of “We don’t be havin dat”

Chattanooga fricking rules. We're already 6 hours from my wife's family though and she won't move further away I don't think. They're getting older.

I love it there. You are wrong on the hillbillies tho. They get fricking crazy. If you venture to the back country, be careful.

It's one of my favorite areas as well.

The problem is that my job doesn't really exist in small cities or if it does it won't pay well. This basically leaves Knoxville as the only option.

I want to retire in that area. Would love to have a little place in a town like Highlands NC

Agreed except for the stuff about UT Football. That is a detractor. Anywhere in the Blueridge is awesome.

I’d take north of Atlanta portion of Ga over Western. NC only due to taxes. It’s a great area though between east tenn/West Nc/ North Ga.

A negative of this area is that we have some of the worst air quality in the country during allergy seasons.
