Depends on your perspective. Those wide open spaces in the midwest and west are deadly dull to some. OTOH, it's kinda cool to come up on two old baws parked in the middle of a US highway passing the time of day, because 9 days out of 10, nobody will be along in the next hour.

There is actually a song dedicated to the boredom.

Corn, corn, corn, corn, Hey whats that smell? Corn, corn, corn, corn, Hey whats that smell?

I80 through Iowa

I35 from Texas to Minnesota. Scenery changes very little the entire way.

Iowa is probably the worst stretch IME.

At least west Texas has rocks and shite. The worst for me was driving I-80 through Nebraska.

The reason I started this topic because I used to feel that Indiana was an incredibly boring state but today it's been more interesting.

It's been 15 years since we went through Texas but that's probably the top pick now for most boring. I don't remember much but fields and fields and fields totally empty. I was 9 and had a tv and super nientendo in the car so that made the drive bearable.

As for worst states. I've seen parts of all of them that suck. I'll just throw out any state that I-65 runs through

Drove the PCH from Point Reyes to Mendocino with the SO. I was having a blast driving through all the twists and turns, then I looked over to find her turning green.

I-94 from Fargo, ND to Bismarck, ND.

Actually, Minneapolis to Fargo is worse. Uglier countryside, and hardly any exits for the last 75 miles.

Nashville to Knoxville is brutal in the middle of the night.

I-26 from Columbia to Charleston, and visa versa, seems to take forever as well.

But, I-81 from Bristol to the Maryland state line is my least favorite drive. I make it several times a year to visit family, and it never gets any easier.

We drove it from Mendocino up north towards Oregon. I freak out over driving and heights so I insisted on driving(I'm less scared if I drive cause I feel in control)...otherwise I would have been scared the entire time

But yeah.....the twists are actually fun, you feel like you are in a car commercial.

I drove through west Kansas in the wee hours. The only thing that was cool was a could see a thunderstorm approaching from what seemed like 200 miles away. That was pretty exciting.
