Will be buying a new driver this season. I play a stock stiff shaft in my R11S. My traj is pretty good currently... Not too low, but definitely not high. Could probably use a little more height for more carry, but don't want to lose the run out I get. I've lost a little flexibility and speed as I've gotten on the wrong side of 40, but still swing it fast enough for a stiff shaft. What options should I consider?

Grafalloy Blue Stiff shaft 105 I believe, theyre 39.99 and probably the cheapest but most bang for your buck driver shaft that there is. I have one on my Ping g30 thay replaced a regular flex stock Ping shaft and it has done me wonders.

I have a Matrix Black Tie in my driver, I'v only played about 4 rounds with it, but I could tell a significant difference after the first couple drives with it. They're affordable too, I would check out Ebay first.

Go get fitted. Too many shafts and too many factors to tell you what to get.

This. Find a demo day at a local course/driving range.

You can try hundreds of shaft/driver combos for free. You're crazy if you do it any other way.

I work for an online golf retailer that specializes in aftermarket shafts, and I wholeheartedly agree with the statement above.

What's your handicap?

If it's over ...say... 15ish, I'd say buy lessons instead of new driver.

The new Bamboo shafts are all the rage in Europe now. I think Rory and Day are playing them now.

I think you should worry less about a yard or two further and worry more about putting it in the short grass. Want it to carry higher get a 10.5 or so loft driver.

I quit worrying about hitting it 300 when I passed 40.
Nowadays 250 is pretty good...but it'll be in the fairway.
