What about two posts with a pulley on a cable? Clip his leash to it and let him run.

We could leave him in the backyard (fenced) but GF probably wouldn't let me. He managed to get out of 2 kinds of crates when we first got him (including an all metal Kong), so he's something of an escape artist and is willing to injure himself to try and do it.

He's settled down now, so I think he'd prob be alright in the back. But our house is in the middle of Atlanta on a major road, and I think that'd keep her from going for it.

So you pay $60 a week. That's approx $240 a month or $2,880 a year for someone to babysit a dog. That's incredibly ridiculous.

that's your opinion based on your financial situation.

Not my dog bro, at least technically. Also not my dog daycare money for the most part.

Yes, I know. The list (her list) entails your GF, her dog, THEN you. Was just kidding though.

You need a boat to drop money into. Not a step dog

Go live in a trailer. Chain the dog to the trailer so he can get under it. Done.

ITT: People that are incensed someone would spend money different from how they would spend it.

It's a mix. I mean, I get that spending 300-400 a month to have someone watch your dog is kind of crazy. Of course, I think the folks who are like, "it's a fricking dog let it die" are bizarre too.

For me we didn't really understand what we were getting with this one. It's not like we got him thinking we'd put that kinda money into it. But he's a good dog, and he's had a shitty life, so keeping him pretty happy has been worth it to me.

My dog stays home and guards the house. That's how she earns her room and board.

Once a week, usually on days when we have something to do that night, or on a day I can't come home for lunch. They love it, and are exhausted when they get home. And it's good for socialization.

Well I did say it's just a fricking dog. I did not say let it die, although that sounds like a much better option than spending that much money for a step dog baby sitter

We crate trained our dog and that's where she is most days. If we could afford doggy daycare I would most likely do it at least a couple days a week. But actual daycare and private school suck up all those funds.
