Our lab scalps tennis ball. That sock would last 2 seconds.

I've bought lil stuffed toys with squeakers in the past for my pug and the lab "killed" it within 5 minutes and is chomping away at the squeaker he has to extract from any toy with one.

And yes....nylabones and kong balls are the toys that actually last with the lab.

He rarely leaves my side and seems like extra obedient lately

My oldest dog has basically become this way too.

Dude is so in tune with shite.

He is aware of my moods and acts accordingly.

They really do. Even if I'm just sick and laid up on the couch they know something isn't right and both of them will just want to come cuddle by me and give me that look as if to say "you ok? Don't worry, I'm here"

A before and after.

He is terrified of the vacuum. I turn it on and he automatically runs into his crate cause he feels safer there.

When it's time for my dog to go, I'm going to turn on the vacuum and leave. She and the vacuum are going to have one last round like Brad Pitt and the grizzly bear at the end of Legends of the Fall.

Make sure it's big enough for her.

Absolutely. Talk to your vet about this. Take care of this now; the longer you wait the harder the pup will resist crating.

Do you find that people in general are scared of German Shepherds. I'm worried about her getting out of our yard and scaring someone because she barks at dogs she doesn't now. People are always walking their dogs in my hood

The public places we've brought him he's been adored. He likes to bark at the chick-fil-a drive through people but they've been like "awwwww". And he doesn't really bark at other dogs when I walk him.
