Dog advice: My copperhead killing dog failed to attack one in my yard

My Aussie Shepherd, who is 4, was a copperhead killing machine. I trained her to kill them, but to ignore non-venomous snakes (she'll give them the once over, but won't kill them).

Ex-wife in residence almost steps on a copperhead. My dog ignores it, actually rolls on the grass nearby so ex goes back into the house.

Ex would know what a copperhead looks like but is crazy. Couldn't smell it (dog's way of discerning venom v. non-venom)? Home turf issue? Being at home with ex all day ruining the dog?

This is a dog that would go berserk over copperheads.

You still live with your ex-wife? Is it awkward when a dude shows up at your door to take her out for the night?

Sounds like your dog is giving a big middle finger to your ex. Give her a treat.

If you are smart you'll train that copperhead to kill your ex

That was bad wording. She was whacking copperheads on her own with great gusto, and I trained her to discern between copperheads and rat/king snakes (which worked about 80% of the time)

I didn't go out and teach her to kill c-heads. That was natural to her.

Did you train your dog to let copperheads bite your ex wife? Are you a hit man for hire?

Live-in ex-wife has trained dog to kill you. It's just a matter of time.

Ex said "snake was acting weird" because she almost stepped on it and it didn't get aggressive (and copperheads tend to lay low and not strike) BUT she blamed on my neighbor using some type of directed energy device. So, I have to sort out the crazy from the factual.

I am not discounting that it was a king or rat snake, but she was certain about the color, yellow tail and chevrons.

My Aussie loves my ex because the dog likes to patrol, and my ex goes around checking everything out that she deems "suspicious" which can be anything and everything. They patrol together. Dog watched the ex check out a section of wood floor that had a brown streak (always there) that she deemed to be burn marks from the television shooting some type of energy out onto the floor.

You may be correct and, if so, it would be the ex. Dog clearly has a talent for this. She cleaned out the local airport at the airport's request. Her snaking is pretty well known locally.

I wish she was. She is somewhat paranoid. She thinks electricity is circulating under the house floors because she "feels shocks."
