Grew up 20 miles over the border in a dry Arkansas county and would go to LA for beer/drink/bars. They had a drive up Liq store that served fruity frozen mixed drinks (styrofoam cups) with a piece of tape over the lid hole to be legal.

Also had a friend get a DWI and ended up making a donation to the Parish and never got his license taken. This is all early-00's. Wondering if they still have crazy laws and loopholes like that.

Yes, we still sell daquiries.

It's very hard to get out of a DWI after the ticket is written. MADD changed all of that shite a long time ago.

Yes, we still have drive through daquiris stands.

What's a leupold? It seems to be a manufacturer of optics and sights for hunting. What does that have to do with alcohol laws in Louisiana?

Because it's not legal in a dry country, simple.

I agree it's horse shite though. Some people let their religion dictate the law.

Fixed spelling errors for all the Bee winners. I just remember people from out of town amazed that there was a drive up (not drive thru) Liq store where people came and waited on you, took, your order, filled up your ice chest with beer, served you frozen "Pond Scum" and "Cotton Candy" mixed drinks, and took your payment...all without getting out of your car. What fond memories.

Of course that store is not there anymore because the Ark county went wet and all the border liquor stores went under. Amazing how that happens...

Taking open alcohol out of bars is the craziest. It's earth shattering

when i first moved to Memphis from Louisiana, i caused more than one ruckus by instinctively getting a beer to go.

i went back home recently and forgot how convenient it was to pull up at a convenient store drive through window for a case of beer and a pack of zig zags.
