I'm trying to renew my passport, so I googled "Renew Passport". The first thing that comes up is a sponsored ad for passusa-online.com. There is another link below it that says "Renew Online Now". The hyperlink for that is SUUUUPER sketchy. It allows you to fill out a DS-82 with SSN, address phone number, and credit card # for an application fee. Pretty sure that site is a scam, but Google can get absolutely fricked if they are allowing scams to be sponsored ads.

My company has always used Passports and Visas for expedited passports when we have a project outside of the US.

The answer is yes.

They all do...it's called revenue.

Yes. Chase bank had a fake sponsored ad that got me several years ago.

This is correct. I found a really discounted rebuild kit for a pneumatic tool on a sponsored ad. Bought it and less than a day later had to cancel my credit card (fraudulent charges), and the item never arrived. I haven’t seen that website since, so google isn’t totally on top of scammers. Use a reputable, known place.

Seems like google should liable if they sponsor an ad that steals you money/identification. They endorsed it.

There is nothing that Google won't do for money.

Maybe. What does Google’s terms of service say about it?

Google doesn't sponsor the ad. The ad sponsors Google. And being sponsored by a site doesn't necessarily mean endorsing that site. You are responsible for the links you click on and whatever ensues. I'm sure the terms of service are clear on this.
