Looking at the replies to Trump's tweets, they're all verified accounts despite having not done anything noteworthy. They're no-names.

Has Twitter gone to just verifying everyone that can make a decent case for verification?

I've been noticing the same thing lately. Seems like anyone with a blog url in their bio gets a verification

How long ago? Just saying because you liked Twitter less than a year ago.

Twitter is circling the drain so long as it cannot properly integrate ads (near) seamlessly as Google or Facebook can.

They recently opened it up to anyone affiliated with any sort of blog or newsource or entertainment business. Anyone can apply for verification and the form says you need a picture, a birthday, a connected website that you are a representative of, and have an active profile, which means atleast like 1000 followers, but even that can be subjective.

It really ruined the entire point of verification.

Twitters problem is not Facebook, but instead snapchat, which just opened an IPO worth a few billion

Twitter has always lost money tho. I think it's brand and the number of users will keep it around but no one has yet to figure out how to really make money off of Twitter, but it's not in trouble really. It's a staple of the younger generation.
