every catholic high guy I met has been down to earth.
Nailed it for the most party. There are bitchy people at BRMHS too, but I feel like your niece will like this better. There are all kinds of people . It really is the most diverse school in the state.

She will be bullied at BRMHS too. BRMHS wasn't that great, it can compete with the rest of them because of all the Asians that went there. It is very diverse. The most diverse in the city if not the state. It has all kinds of races from white, black, Asian, and even Hispanic. It has all kinds of people too like hipsters, nerds, jocks, and chumps. It is lacking in athletics, but it has swimming, soccer, tennis, volleyball, and track. The arts is great. The drama, music, and painting are top notch. It wins awards in math, science, English, and has its own radio station. The school sucked when I was there, but it will be significantly cheaper then St Joes.

Yes....my niece graduated from there in '09. Super smart kid...made a 34 on her ACT, just graduated from UGA last spring and is in her 1st year of med school at Emory. May not be for everyone, but my niece definitely excelled there.
Damn

I graduated from St. Joes a few years ago. Everyone gets along. No one was ever really bullied when I was there. The only bullying I knew of was within friend groups. Academically, I think St. Joseph's is the best place. It really prepared me for college.

Different people say different things about SJA. All three are good schools. Good luck getting into uhigh unless you have connections. Episcopal not an option?

Produces very classy, yet incredibly hot + slutty girls.

If you can get her into U High, do. It is insanely difficult and you have to basically have serious political connections. St. Joe's is not as good a school academically as the other two. BR High is great, but she won't get many of the typical "high school experience" moments due to their lack of a football team and lots of other stuff. However, no school in Baton Rouge can tough Baton Rouge High academically.
St. Joe's is ok, and it's great for getting her into the Baton Rouge (and LSU Sorority) social scene. However, the girls there are insanely clicky, catty, and can be very tough on girls who aren't ready to handle it. Also, the school has the innate power to turn them into whores, which is great if you're a teenage boy, but not so much if you're a parent.
If she cares about having a high school experience:
1. U High
2. St. Joe's
3. BR Magnet High
If she cares about her education and getting her into an elite college:
1. BR Magnet High
2. U High
3. St. Joe's

Knew several of the Girls intimately. That was many years ago tho.

Thanks. St Joes seems like it would be terrible for a shy girl. And episcopal and Runnels seem weird. and expensive.

There is more of a community and sisterhood at these private school then at BRMHS. I have met many people ( myself included) who didn't like their time at BRMHS. Let your niece tour the school. And I know many BRMHS people that failed out of LSU. One killed himself.

quick breakdown of the rest of the schools:
Parkview Baptist: hard drugs
Episcopal: if you have to ask, you can't afford it
St. Michael's: meh all the way around (my SO graduated from there)

Yeah, if you want her to end up one or all of the following:
depressed, lesbian, suicidal, anti-social, addicted to pills, mentally fried and insane
I've heard of two many people who cracked under the pressure up there. LSMSA has the capacity to do to people academically what St. Joe's does socially, except with an added advantage of taking away their parental, familial, and all other support systems.

I had 4 daughters graduate from McKinley (gifted/talented) and have one who is a jr. at BRMHS. No question, BRMHS provides a more challenging, college prep. experience...it is regularly among the state's leaders in merit scholars. I really like the diversity at BRMHS and the focus on volunteerism.

Really? That's not the immediate association I would make for them at all.
St. Joe's is fine. My best friend's fiancee is from there, as are most of her good friends. It just unfortunately rhymes with a certain word. Most of the girls I've met from there are less promiscuous than the girls from my high school.

They're prudes until they hit junior year, and then they morph.
