Does anyone have experience with neurosurgeon Marcus Ware?

My dad has a brain tumor that needs to be removed. His initial doctor was Kelly Scrantz in Baton Rouge. They went to doctor Marcus Ware in New Orleans for a second opinion. Dr. Ware made my dad a little more comfortable about he surgery but there isn't many reviews on him and some mixed reviews. Just wondering if anyone has experience with either doctor

I hope this is a neurosurgeon and not a neurologist.

I've heard people say he is very comfortable to deal with and makes you feel at ease. Hope your dad the best and speedy recovery.

From what I understand, he went to Troy, spent a couple years racking up HoF level sack statistics, dropped the De, and opened up a practice.

Anyone with a bad experience won't remember it, so there's that.

Yes
Dude was an angel from heaven in my darkest hour. He “dabbles” in spinal cord issues and performed back surgery on me about 7 years ago. I believe he graduated from Harvard. It was semi-emergency surgery so I completely lucked out getting him. Follow up appointments is when I better got to know him. Great guy. Short chubby black guy right?
Damn, didn’t notice the op is two months old. Hope all went well.

I'm sure if you search for Kelly Scrantz on tigerdroppings, you will find a lot of reviews with respect to back/neck issues/surgeries. He seems to have a very favorable reputation in that regard. I don't know about brain surgery though.

Yep. Worked with him numerous times. He does necks and backs also but I think he does more tumor cases than anything. Very meticulous and to me, I think he does a good job. One night I was working when he was on call and my friend came in with a ruptured aneurysm. He literally saved her life. She sees him often for follow up appts and loves him. Said he has a great demeanor and bedside manner which I have also seen when he’s with patients in preop. BTW, he’s half the man he was. Lost a ton of weight and looks great now. Hope your dad does well

No experience with him. My wife used Dr Frank Cullichia in Marrero . He is top notch and has a stellar reputation. Check his group out. Prayers for your dad and your family.
