If you haven’t perused the Racing Form at home already and made your picks, you’re just guessing.
Look for a race with a strong favorite and then pick a couple of other horses to pair up for an exacta. Look for decent horses that are dropping weight and don’t be afraid to bet on the jockey.
Don’t bet every race - use the time between races to find good picks in later races.
Stand outside by the track for at least one race and take in the sound and feel of the horses as they cross the finish line.

I have a tip, gambling should be for fun not for a living. Get a bank roll. It can be $50 a month, don't blow it all on one bet.
Make small less risky bets and once you get a certain percent above your starting bankroll you can start taking a few higher risk bets.
Don't ever make a bet in order to try to make up for a lost bet.
