Reports from this guy on Twitter is that the Doctor killed in Austin is Katherine Sphat Dodson. Daughter of LSU law professor Katherine Sphat and her father is a founding partner at well known BTR firm Kantrow Sphat. Sad news.

No names listed (that I saw).
Hope you aren’t naming names before the vics are identified and family notified

“You don’t deserve to go through this... for all you have done for others... that is why I want to help you work through this. You have saved a lot of lives,” a hostage negotiator could be heard over the loudspeaker
sounds to me like the doctor was the bad guy

It’s confirmed it was her. Killed by a male doctor who had interviewed for a job there recently. Very sad news.

Nothing is clear from the link or Twitter feed posted.
Not blaming the OP, just shitty reporting from the sources.

She was gone before I got there, but we still read several of her articles and she was apparently a well liked/respected expert in family law etc.
Sad to hear

I’m confused, too many Katherine’s.

On an unrelated note, Professor Spaht is directly responsible for the way the divorce system in Louisiana is now situated. The system that is sexist against males at every turn is of her doing. It’s a system that would have worked better in 1960 not 2021. Males should not be discriminated against because they are males. When you’re getting screwed by a judge for alimony or not seeing your child as much as you’d like, you can thank professor Spaht.

I think she also had some nickname like 80 Katie or 80 Spahty because supposedly she never gave anyone higher than that on an exam lol
ETA: see rumproast’s correction below “68 Spaht”

Damn that is sad news. Knew The mother when she was at the law school. Very gracious, polite, and professional.

It's "Spaht," as in Carlos Spaht.

Sad, I knew the family and the old man Carlos Spaht, when they lived on the big house on Dubois in University Acres.
I Lived around the corner from there.

No -
She was not the bad guy unless the other person was a doctor too. I refuse to believe Lindley (Spaht) Dodson was the aggressor. No fricking way.
ETA:
I see someone said a male doctor did it.

Started getting texts about this last night from highschool friends and woke up to find out she had been killed in the deal. My understanding this info is correct as it was her. She was from BR, graduated highschool here and still has most of her family and a lot of friends here. Sad story
