You're not the first to say this, and I find it completely odd.

Well, it's true. The t-shirt smoothes out a lot of unflattering bulges. It also insures your dress shirt appears the color it was meant to be. Without the tee, the color of your skin and hair shows through, and changes the color of a lot of shirts.

Always. Just a nice black pocket T. I always dress in layers, so it may end up being my shirt for the day.

Meh. White just shows through. If you're wearing a grey undershirt, I could maybe see this.

Undershirts are for fatties. Any in shape guy with the proper fit in his dress shirts would look worse with an extra layer of fabric underneath.

Anything but a V neck, V necks are for men who dress like women

I haven't worn an undershirt since Junior High, sans when I wear a white dress shirt-and that's a maybe. My hairy chest has to breathe, and it drives the women freaking crazy to see my upper tuft peaking out.

No. They save nice dress shirts from the deodorant stains accumulating in your arm pits.

and stay tucked in

This used to be my biggest problem with undershirts. Since I was young, apparently shirt manufacturers have decided to keep prices lower by making the shirts thinner and shorter in the trunk and sleeves gradually until now, I can't get ones that will stay tucked because they are too short.

Then I found the hack - tall sizes.

If you are a large, buy large/tall undershirts from the "Big and Tall" section, or just order them. They are about 3" longer in the trunk. If you want them to be slim, buy one size smaller, i.e. medium for large (or at least try this, it may not work but is worth trying).

If you're not worried about bulk, buy Duluth Trading Co.'s Longtail T's.
