When I was 25 I thought I wouldn’t see 35
Everyone I worked with was getting cancer from the chemicals

When I was 35 I thought there was no way I’d see 45

I’m over…..now……so many gone at 50-60, rich? Didn’t matter….famous? Didn’t matter…..healthy and athletic? Didn’t matter…

Crazy and depressing

My dad died a few months shy of 65. I will be 44 on Thursday and I think about that a lot. I never understood what a midlife crisis was until recently.

No. Mom died at 55 and was in good health aside from a high stress career.

Makes me think real hard every month when I go to make my retirement contributions - am I even gonna be around for this to matter? I justify it to myself that everything I make goes to my kid in the end.

My dad thought about retiring at 62 but he wanted to make it to 65 for a little extra each month. In the end, it benefited my mom who is drawing his retirement savings but he never got to enjoy any of it. His retirement was 18 months of fighting cancer.

I’m not afraid of the dirt nap. I believe firmly in our Lord.

I’m just humbled by the uncertainty and futility of it all

Jimmy buffet? Billionaire? Was he 66?

Sorry you lost your dad so early, I’m blessed to have mine still at my age. I try never to take that for granted now but wish I would’ve spent more time with him when I was younger

Probably. Absent an absolutely horrible lifestyle, consumption habits, or accident, longevity is largely genetic. By averaging both sets of grandparents' ages at death, I should (theoretically) make it to 83.25.

You are blessed to still have him. Enjoy it

My grandpa made it to his late 80s and I still have a grandmother alive as well as a few great aunts, great uncles, etc, and my mom. Since my dad passed, I don't take them for granted like I used to.

Politics board much?

I know perfectly healthy 80 year olds that have had over 20 Covid shots (and I think quietly to myself that they are idiots)

I am not one of them :lol. But long Covid is frickin real and sucks

Early on in life, didn’t think I’d make 27. Lived like it too…so much so my parents took a life ins policy out on me when I was 24.

Then, when I made 27, didn’t think I’d make it to 35. Lived like it too.

When I turned 29, I sobered up and had a desire to live, create a life for myself and others.

At 32, I opened my first business, and opened two more within 7 years.

Now, at the age of 40, the combination of working 60+ hours, a sedentary lifestyle, family, etc has caused a few health concerns. So much so I’m selling the main business to free up time to focus on health.

I def won’t see 65 if my lifestyle doesn’t change sooner than later.
