Do you purchase your kid’s school photos?

They take them first day of school every year…and I’m already getting the ‘did you forget to order’ emails. Nope.

Used to be a thing though, I remember the packages from when I was a kid. A sheet of wallet size, two 5x7s, and one big monster photo. Every year.

I guess that industry has taken a hit now that we all carry around cameras 24/7.

We still buy some 5x7s of the sports photos…the ones where they make them not smile.

Yup and like everything else they've risen exponentially in price. No single package has everything that we need since we have to give family members a photo as well and each year we end up with so many extras.

Little Braxxton's travel ball photos are half the price and look more badass.

I buy the smallest package with a 5x7 and a 3x5 for grandma in it. The kids today don't trade the wallet sizes any more.
If my ex wife wants pictures, she can click the link and pay for whatever package she wants, lol.

Dang, no one ever wanted mine. Thought they were for aunts and godparents…but I guess that’s what mom had to tell me.

You mean you don’t hire a professional sports photographer to capture the moment?

Slacker.

my beef with photographers and kid related photos these days is: you can buy the physical photos for one price, but if you want digital copies…..it’s a separate package for double or triple the price.

when in reality, it costs the photographer / company nothing extra in time or effort to produce digital copies of the photos they took. scam

Yes.

We always get 3 5 X 7's for the grandparents(both of our moms and her dad), and everyone else gets a wallet.

Yea, the digital version is what people really want, outside of a couple 5x7s for keepsakes. They should change the business model and effectively record them while they sit there…break down the film and create a package of digital photos. Some candid, some not, the normal smile ones…post them all and see if the parents would buy a package of day 5-8 different digital shots.

1 awkwardly smiling print is just not good. Fresh dumb haircut, new shirt…just looks strange.

More normal when they’re really young…lots of change happens over a year at that age.

I just clicked the link…$85, $65, $40, and $35 are the package options…an 8x10 is $20 ala cart. Buy that and scan it seems like the best option.

Digital download is $30.
