We have trained our 1st grader to make and bring us the coffee. He gets reconstituted parents and breakfast in return. Good deal.

French press every morning. I used to hand grind, but it broke. I am saving up for a nice electric model.

Coffee starts brewing at 4:35, I'm up by 4:40, and out the door by 5am with my sweet sunshine.

Night before. Too tired before coffee in the morning to attempt this feat.

We call it "Bob-ing up the coffee" in honor of my childhood friend's Dad, Bob, who in the 60s and 70s, would prepare the coffee and set it to go on in the AM with a wall plug timer.
He was an early riser who car pooled to the train station in the next town (Barrington) to ride an hour to downtown Chicago for work.
