Do You Feel Like You Made Your Parents Proud?

At this point in your life, do you feel like you made your parents proud?
Were you ever someone who felt it was important to please your parents and what they thought of you stayed on your mind? I’m kind of guilty of this. Haven’t made some of the best choices and while I want to have a conversation with them about life, I just don’t know how to start that conversation.
Anybody relate to this?

Such a complex question.
In some areas, yes.
In other areas, absolutely not.

I mean they raised (well I did in the end) of my high school years, a decent human being. I finished college, paid back all my loans, have a good job and work hard. Make decent-ish money, but no OT baller. I make what I think are good financial decisions. So I would hope that is enough to have made them proud.
I mean I've definitely fricked up plenty and have my issues, but overall I would say yes as they raised a functional member of society.

Yes, I've made them proud. It did matter to me a great deal to succeed in their eyes, even when they were no longer my disciplinarians, and especially when they thought it wasn't a good idea
The desire to meet and exceed expectations starts at home. It's an important character trait.

Probably not but I’m still working on it

Yes. I’ve got them fooled pretty well.

I am deeply indebted to my parents. They worked their asses off for me to be able to be successful. I lost my dad three and a half years ago - he was only 62.
Sucks that I didn’t get a chance to repay him in some way for the life he set me up for. Now I just want to do the same for my kids and set them up for a life better than mine. And try not to frick up the work they did for me.
If that makes sense.

You aren’t here to make your parents proud. You are here to make yourself proud.

Father? Yes.
Mother? Probably.
Mother? Probably.

Depends on who you ask.
I’ve never heard my mother say she was proud of me.
My dad on the other hand, will never let me forget how proud I’ve made him.
The real question, are you proud of yourself?
Even more real, are you proud of the children you’ve raised?

I struck out with the bases loaded in the first ever travel ball World Series in Orange Beach.
So No

No, but the feeling is mutual...

I'm pretty sure my dad is still shocked I'm not in prison, went to college and am a normal, productive adult

Isn't it the best feeling when you are.?
My little guy is the sweetest soul in the world and is smart as can be. His teacher sends home great notes saying what a joy he is, he gets good behavior reports from school. The other day I picked him up and was just asking about his day like normal and he then was like "how was your day mom". I thought it was just so cute that he actually cared. And the other day he wanted to call his grandma. When she answered he was just like I wanted to see how your day is going. Thats great for a 6 year old. Make me proud every day.

Nah I haven’t made em proud. Life is about what you think not others opinions right? It’s hard because it’s natural to care about how you’re seen by others. Doin my best is the only way I know how to live

Wanna make your parents proud?
1.) Take them out to a nice dinner out of the blue and sincerely thank them during that dinner for their sacrifices in feeding and housing you.
2.) Spend time with them as much as possible.
3.) Bring your momma her favorite flowers out of the blue.
4.) Show your old man you've learned his advice by how you live your life.

Yes. If I would get around to giving them a grandkid, their lives would basically be complete
