This is more about in the workplace. Is anyone loyal enough to your boss/company that you would not leave no matter what kind of offer you get?

Or do you think it is better to be as loyal as you have to be until it comes to your best interest? To some degree, I think loyalty is overrated. Is the person you loyal to just as loyal to you? I think it is best to be as loyal as you have to be, but don't have blind loyalty.

Thoughts?

This board is nothing but trust fund babies and social climbers. There isn't one of them including myself that would be loyal to anyone but themselves. In the job market self preservation above all and if that means being a kiss arse or appearing loyal then you play the game.

We have loyalty in my department at work. I make my boss' job easier and keep him from getting an arse chewing, and he will do the same for me. We cover for each other and have the good ole boy network firmly in place. It works rather well in the car business. It would take a really large pay increase to get me to leave my boss and company.
I have been to a couple of football games with the owner as well. He is the coolest rich dude I have ever met. We had some aggie fans beneath the company suite and he laughed when I told him to get me a piss balloon.

ETA: It would take 15K+ per year at minimum to get me to move. Likely would take 20K.

At the end of the day a company will do what is best for itself. I think along similar lines. If another company offers me a better life for myself and my family, I will take it. That being said, I won't do anything to harm my previous employer or coworkers.

Just stupid. Every reasonable person knows that you have to look out for your best interests. I would question the integrity of an organization that tried to make you feel guilty about doing what is best for yourself and your family.

The mother fricker was jumping and doing monkey shite while pointing to your thread then got mad because I said something negative about it. So I made him go to bed.

I agree with this, I was just seeing what the "average" mindset is when it comes to loyalty.

It is just something I heard today that made me think about it. The people were not talking to me, but I could overhear the conversation. It was some goofballs in the same building, but works for a different company. One of the guys said "I am still fricking pissed what he did to me. He gave the position to him and he isn't even as loyal to him as I am".. I am paraphrasing, but when it comes down to it, just from that one statement, the guy seemed as if he didn't really know how to "play the game"

Yes. But it is a rare trait now so it seems.

One thing I will give to you coonass poster. Some of the most loyal people ever to be met. You gain trust/friendship of a coonass, you have a friend for life.

I respect you rakim, and agree with the rest of your post, but you are smarter than this.

frick. I wish I was a trust fund baby. Why can't I have a rich daddy or great uncle millionaire who left me his fortune when he croaked?

This is how the Russians started the conversation with Trump, Jr.

His response, "Who's asking?"

Put in my two weeks this week. Would have loved to stay but $ talks.I feel like they're kinda pissed at me, but there's no loyalty in business anymore. They will wush me the best in my future endeavors, though.

I'm loyal enough to my boss that if I ever had a better offer that was a sure thing I'd take him out for a couple of beers and let him know I was leaving if the offer wasn't matched.

Rize, We need to go have beers. A new fellow says he will do your job for less. I want to do you the courtesy of buying you a couple beers and giving you the opportunity to beat that offer.

And don't call or text me on my personal cell.

Your loyalty is appreciated.

This is another shitty thread started by you.

Loyalty now days for one's employer shouldn't really exist because most companies are no longer loyal to their employees. It's not like the old days where companies were loyal to their employees. It's cutthroat now in pretty much any field you're in.

Loyalty should exist between family and friends though.
