Bought 2 refurbished HP Touchpads back in the day. Both are still running with no problems.

That's rebuilt, not refurbished. Many car parts are typically bought rebuilt. The price difference between rebuilt and new is typically huge. You should always ask though whether you're getting rebuilt or new.
