I don't mind buying refurbished things... I weigh the difference in price whether it's worth chancing on getting refurbished or not.

Yes. Sometimes refurbished are "open box" items that cannot be sold as new. They call it refurbished because they have to check the item out before reselling.

Sometimes. Never had a problem, but the savings really has to be worth it for the risk.

I bought an iPad 2-3 years ago.
My kids have dropped and thrown that fricking thing from one side house to other.
Still works like new.

Bought a refurbished PS3 back in 2009. It was one of the old fat models before the slim came out. Still going strong.
Bought a refurbished Wii U directly from Nintendo for $200 and it works great as well.

Yes, when the price differential reward outweighs the risk. Let me preface that by saying I do my homework with Consumer Reports or whatnot.
I saved a bundle on a refurb Nikon SLR camera two years ago. It's worked perfectly and we still use it. Got a refurb Sony flat screen last year. Again, absolutely no problems. The way I see it technology evolves so quickly and prices generally drop when new models hit. Three or four years down the road you can probably buy a better unit for the same price as repairing the existing. In some cases you can get a great deal.

Yes, I've purchased refurbished Yahama outdoor speakers and refurbished Denon A/V receiver from Accessories 4 Less. Also, I purchased refurbished iMac 27" computer from Apple.
No issues whatsoever and products look like they came from the showroom floor.
