No you moron. They are associated with caterpillars.

Well, the deceased decay in the ground, which provides nutrients to the soil allowing oak trees to grow; which in turn provide habitat for caterpillars to cocoon before transitioning into butterflies. Huh, I guess you're right after all.

I shite in the woods Saturday morning and when I walked by it a couple hours late a beautiful monarch butterfly was sitting on it.

Maybe it got confused and thought my shite was something dead?

Butterflies are a symbol of hope, for those who have lost loved ones. I associate bird feathers as gifts from my deceased son.
