"2 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction. 2 And many will follow their sensuality, and because of them the way of truth will be blasphemed. 3 And in their greed they will exploit you with false words. Their condemnation from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

Nowhere in that excerpt does it say anything about other gods. It speaks of angels being thrown down, and false prophets like Balaam. In the bible God declares he is the alpha and omega, and he created all things, but nowhere does it ever say other gods such as baal do not exist. Just that if they did exist they would be far less powerful the one true God.

Also, regarding my second question. If you believe the Bible is 100% accurate, than you have no choice but to believe magic is real. From the pharoah's "wise men" turning their staffs into snakes, the witch of endor summoning Samuel's soul, to the new testament where Simon the Magician is described in Acts as practicing magic.and being able to actually use sorcery.

I need to quit doodling on the bulletin and start paying attention more.
