Your own answer to #7 is wrong.
Mary ascended without dying. It's called the Assumption of Mary and we just celebrated it this week.
Edit: also, Jesus's Sermon on the Mount is commonly referred to as The Sermon on the Mount.

Always hated this one. Why do the poorest areas have the most crime?
----
Because rich men are corrupt for the most part.
Of course the poor will be held responsible too
You're supposed to be middle of the road on about everything.

What size faith does Mary require? Gotta be smaller than a mustard seed. Maybe a grain of sand?
Posted on 8/17/17 at 6:58 am to PrivatePublic
Oh she can take more faith than that.

I want to study for this quiz. Can I still pick up a bible in the best selling fiction section at my local bookstore?

10/10 and still an atheist. It's almost as if studying religion made me realize it's a scam.

I believe Jesus’ message is that it is impossible for anyone to be saved on his/her own merits. Since wealth was seen as proof of God’s approval, it was commonly taught by the rabbis that rich people were blessed by God and were, therefore, the most likely candidates for heaven. Jesus destroyed that notion, and along with it, the idea that anyone can earn eternal life. The disciples had the appropriate response to this startling statement. They were utterly amazed and asked, “Who then can be saved?” in the next verse. If the wealthy among them, which included the super-spiritual Pharisees and scribes, were unworthy of heaven, what hope was there for a poor man?
On the surface I agree it can be confusing but context is important. A review of common Jewish beliefs and practices in the era in which Jesus was on earth provides a deeper understanding into what people of the day were being taught by their religious leaders.
Keep in mind that there was a reason that Jesus was condemned as a heretic and put to death by the Jewish hierarchy. He spent a lot of His time preaching against what the religious leaders of the day were practicing and enforcing as law all in the name of "God's will".
The sermon on the mount is a prime example of the message Jesus spread during His time here. The meek, the mournful, those poor in spirit and pure in heart were not those held in the highest regard in the society of the day. The sick and afflicted were seen as unclean and cast out. The poor were seen as unworthy. Jesus taught against those ideals.
"Blessed are you when men revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account..."
In essence, when you are cast out or looked down on by people because you are not godly or holy enough in the name of God it is false condemnation. Not unlike things that transpire even today and sadly, in many cases those proclaiming to be Christians can be the worse offenders.
