Just an observation Scruffy had. He noticed that Mama Scruffy always searched for a concrete understory or explanation for books he recommended to her.

The same also seems to happen with movies and television shows as well, and you can notice a trend even with people on this site.

Is this a common occurrence with aging?

If so, that is unfortunate.

They don't lose it, they just quit using it. I think it's more that they get jaded and cynical.

Maybe it wasn't as good as I thought it was. I was thinking I'd have at least 15 upvotes by now.

I could have written a library of shitty books as a kid. You couldn't torture a short story out of me now.

You don't find that sad?

You've basically lost a part of yourself.

I think they absolutely do. I used to have abstract thoughts as a child and rarely do now. There's just less mystery in the world as you get older.

I wonder where it goes? Writers don't lose it.

The two don't defeat each other.

Scruffy has never known a scientific concept that was deconstructed by a fantastical belief.

of course you do..i remember being 8 or 9 playing army, fightin Germans and it was like they were there, we would play for hours. Then one day we tried and the german division just wasn`t there anymore. I`ve seen the same thing with my daughter and her teaching school to her dolls and knowing she wasn`t seeing inanimate pieces of plastic...just something that can`t be avoided

I have seen people older then me loose it all due to not having one on one contact. Younger people live in the fast lane and there is never enough hours in a day to get back to older family members. So, there best friend becomes a dam TV.

I'm 56 and my imagination runs wild all the time. One of the reasons I don't sleep more then 4-5 hours at a time. One thing that has helped me is surfing the net. There is some much info out there compared to when I was a young man. I always have questions, but I always find 50 different answers.
