We used to make this

When I was little, my cousins and I used to always make forts at my grandparents house using the cushions of the sofas. I would have one to myself and my other cousins shared the other sofa while we watched movies with the lights off eating pizza and soda all night every weekend. My son is 12 and he still has his privacy pop that I got him when he was eight. He likes to stay up late watching Netflix and movies in his room on Friday and Saturday nights.

My son has one like this

My teen and tween used too. My 4 year old would rather us put the tent up in the media room.

They're not just for kids.

We had some awesome forts growing up. Dad was always hauling back trees to make into firewood so we'd build all sorts of forts with them.
Good days

Making forts in your house is recommended for any home in New Orleans.

Our 14 year old quit making them around 10, but my 2 year old loves them now. One of the hottest “toys” is a $250 cushion set called a Nugget, which is marketed as something to use to build forts (among other things).

Mine do. Cardboard boxes are still the most popular toys if you don’t stick an iPad in their face.

Every weekend there are between 4 - 8 different forts constructed, distributed throughout every room of the house.

No because their parents have the cheap Rooms 2 Go couch with the fake leather cushions stitched in place.

Way too often. The coffee table and chairs and a blanket. The couch cushions. Their beds pushed together. Any cardboard box of decent size
