Do any of you have a camp/house on False River?

Any interesting stories about the drawdown? I talked to a guy over the weekend who has a house out there and he was showing me pics of an old anchor he found and an old wooden bateau they discovered about 30 yds from their pier. I'm sure there's tons of trash but there's got to be people finding some interesting stuff.

Pretty cool. I'd like to search around some camps I frequented growing up.

I do. Don't have anything interesting at it though, just some old barrels and car tires

A guy I went to high school with lost his virginity in the back seat of a car to some skank during mardi gras at the public boat launch where that bar is (can't remember the name).
I bet there is some interesting stuff on the bottom of that lake. Most of it prob has been silted over tho throughout the years.

Friend of mine caught a dead body a few years ago on a rattletrap by the public launch.

That's it. It's been a few years but I believe the guy had committed suicide a few days before.

Damn. What rattle trap was he using? That's a once in a lifetime catch!

I grew up on the river and am in the process of building on Chenal.
I swear my cousin and I saw a strange fish floating on the surface of the lake with a second tail on its nose. It was about 4-5 foot long and fat. Thought it was dead and we snagged it to reel it in but it suddenly started flopping and sunk. Popped our lines.
ETA: Found a shite ton of old glass bottles from the 20's and 30's at my property on Chenal.

We had a camp out there when I was a youngin. Weirdest fish I caught was a spoonbill catfish.

My family had a camp there when I was growing up and sold it before I got to High School... Probably a good decision on their part. Definitely had some wild summer nights there the past couple of years

Pics? There isn't much to see. Water is down about 3 feet. Some crumbling bulk heads and mostly old tires and shite.

I have one on the island side about a mile down from LA Express. Haven't found anything too interesting but we have picked up a bunch of really old bottles. It has given me a chance to clean up though!!
