That's because you're reading a wildly inconsistent book. Decent fiction though.

I don't think y'all are grasping the proposed scope of the relation. Aliens tweaking the DNA of the ancient hominid that branched into chimps and humans to get humans is one thing. If we were some alien/great ape hybrid where 3 fingered, 3 toed aliens inserted alien DNA, it would stand out in our genetic code to the point where we wouldn't assume we diverged from some protochimp millions of years ago.

There is no way that something that looks like those mummified remains would appear to be genetically related to humans unless we're talking about time travel aliens and not space aliens. If we evolve into Grays then the genetic code would match up enough to say we're related. If they're from another planet entirely they are not going to have those morphological traits and "near human" DNA.

How deep have you ventured into Mississippi and Alabama?

Because it’s not a space alien.

But three fingers and three toes is nothing genetically.

AD stands for anno Domini , which is Latin for "year of our Lord."

Yes, this is the theory -- the reason why human DNA and space alien DNA may have some similarities is because human beings are descended from space alien creatures that arrived on Earth to be our Daddies a long time ago.
