To me, the value of a deluxe resort is not in how nice the room is but the other benefits you get with it

This

We go every 18 months and rotate between Bay Lake and Beach Club. (Bay Lake in May, Beach Club in Oct)

Bay Lake/Contemporary offers you walking to MK, Monorail to MK and Monorail to Epcot. I find that beach club has little more to offer with walking and/or boat to both Epcot and Hollywood but the with the added benefits of Strom along bay and Boardwaalk access.

I'm staying 8 days..with meal plan and tix 2 adults 2 kids for around 5800

Our last trip was a quickie during Mardi Gras

5 nights at an ALL Star, no meal plan, 4 tix = $2700 including food. The two "adult" kids bought a lot of their own meals, and Mrs. Champs and I tend to split meals nowadays, so ....

So much truth...especially when you are stuck behind the scooter brigade with a bunch of fatties clutching turkey legs or Mickey head Eskimo Pies.

I'm in the minority on TD. Went to Disney in 2005, it is the most overrated vacation destination ever. Will never return. Don't get the Disney thing I guess.

Typhoon Lagoon is my preference but that's just because I (and my kids) love the tidal wave pool. It puts out tidal waves that will knock you back 30 feet. Blizzard Beach definitely has the better slides though. Summit Plummet was the tallest open body slide in the world until they built a taller one in Brazil. When you are up there getting ready to slide - holy sh*t.

My brother is in the DVC, for Christmas my 11 person family went. We stayed at the animal kingdom Jambo house. If your a DVC member you can rent this room at the top of the hotel with 3 balconies overlooking the savanah, it has 3 bedroom, 4 baths, a 12 person dining room, full kitchen, full living area with huge tv, and a billiards room. It was my first trip. I'm 34. I cant imagine staying in a better set up down there...

Yacht and Beach Club are the GOAT.

Boardwalk a close second.

I will always rank Magic Kingdom first by a landslide...

How?

I can understand for the nostalgia, but in no way does MK beat out Epcot or Animal Kingdom.

Best place there. I drank around the world which is fun for the novilty and get drunk part of it. Not the best of all beers, but not bad. Germany had their Octoberfest when I went which was good. Italy was good. Both good places for beer to sit outside and watch the crowd. Cheap African Safari Amber surprisingly was not bad. I guess because I expected it to be worse. Not a big fan of the China selection and the Moracco. America had Abita Christmas Ale but I went with Yuengling, always a go to.
England is a nice place to hang out. Inside and out. Rose and Crown was fun and then later that night there was a band playing on the side street there.
Epcot was my favorite. I guess because I like to drink beer, sit outside on a nice day, and just hang out.

Timely thread for me. I'm already working in the area and my wife is flying the kids down tomorrow to "surprise dad" for their 6th birthday on Thursday. I can't wait to see the look on their faces when they realize where we are and what the true surprise is.

This was a last-minute trip, all planned within the last 2 weeks, staying at Art of Animation, and I haven't had many issues getting dinner reservations or fast passes. I'm really looking forward to it.
