Oh, ok. Thanks for letting me know.

Why are you so mad about BMW expanding their product line?

Ah, that would make sense.

It was news to me. I went to the dealer for an oil change and was confused as to what they were doing. Like Audi, they all look the same now.

I like it. Just a little small for me. I'm a sedan guy now. Have owned a couple of 335i's and have one now. It's a lot of fun and with a tune is a real sleeper.

M3 killer. Some kid in my neighborhood added a larger fuel pump to run E85. That car is so damn fast.

Cheap version of the 4-series, which is just the 3-series coupe

Not really...

Although BMW stopped making a 3 series coupe, the 4 series is a different car. The stance is lower, wheelbase longer, track is wider--totally different frame, chassis, and drivetrain.

Well mine is not an M3 killer especially in the curves but is still a blast to drive, and gets just over 30 mpg hwy. Mine is probably somewhere around 330 rear wheel horsepower. Nothing major.

M3 maintenance costs are really high so the 335i is the right car for my budget.

What about the 6 grand coupes? That's an even number model with 4 doors.

There are those few small exceptions. As a general rule, follow the even/odd system to know coupe from sedan

The original M1 was a 2-door, and a beast.

I recently test drove one. It is probably still over at Peake in Metairie. As pointed out above, it's not a true M but it's plenty nimble. I think the M2 will be coming out later this year.

Are you talking about the 70's vintage M1?

Just bought this for my wife 2 weeks ago. Found it in Houston at a really good price. 2014 BMW 328D. It has the turbo diesel engine. On the way back to Louisiana it got 51 mpg.

Who cares. They are so far down on the list of cars with most people, they are an afterthought.

If it's not an "M" series it's garbage.

Hard to tell, but is it a M series too?

No. They just put an M in front of the number badge. It is not part of the Motorsport line. It's essentially like the old "is" sport packages they used to put on the e46s, but with a little more tuning done to the engine. Lower, tighter suspension. Slightly wider wheel base. Tuned engine to boost hp/torque. More technical gearbox settings. Things like that.

Just my opinion bro. Went to all male prep school where every other car I ever rode or drove as a teenager was a BMW. Cool, I guess until every schmo and their brother could get one and they saturated the market with them. Now that I've expanded my automobile palate, I see them as watered down, ugly, cheap imports. Again, my opinion.
