Yes, having 4 boys in my family all two years apart from the next, there were tons of arse whippings at my house growing up.
Dad...hand, he didn't need anything to help him get his point across. It became an art form I guess by the time I got to the spanking ages.
Mom...deferred to dad. Multiple times she'd spank one of us and we'd laugh.

"The Belt." It was probably my mom's old belt because it was small, thin, and an ugly shade of brown. It sat right there in a drawer in the kitchen, and was mostly a deterrent. "Don't make me get The Belt" was usually enough to get the job done.

That was what my mom used. Rare my dad had to spank me, but he used his bare hand it was much worse. Made the mistake of telling my mom once that her spankings didn't hurt anymore. I regretted that once dad came home.
