Producers announced Monday that “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest” will include a live remote broadcast from New Orleans in its Dec. 31 broadcast nationally on ABC. It is the first time the program is including a city in the Central Time Zone in its live countdown which originates from Times Square in New York.

I wonder if they're more or less likely to get shot in New Orleans once it hits midnight.

How awesome will it be when you can hear the midnight gunfire on live national TV? I suppose they will play it off as fireworks.

New Orleans is a shite show NYE. Chicago is also too similar to NYC. I'd go with New Orleans without hesitation.

Ya, it is definitely a good NYE spot. Good choice by the show.

They could broadcast from Bourbon street.

There is no good place in Chicago that will have a consistent crowd.

Nola will also have sugar bowl people in town.

Chicago is probably too cold for dick Clark. He would get pneumonia up there.

Nola over Chicago is a no brainer

Austin would have been a good spot too.

I don't think Dick Clark has a problem with being cold anymore.

There are a shitload of people who go to the Decateur Street and River front area to watch the baby drop (or whatever it is) and to see the fireworks.
And yes, it's a "good" crowd with all of the football fans in town

Plus they'd have to dig him up. Would be a logistical nightmare.

I assume they will broadcast from near Jackson Square with the church in the shot a lot.

I haven't done NYE in Austin yet but I'm looking forward to it.
