DeKalb man fell asleep while charging his phone in his truck. When he woke up, his house..

Was on fire.

Officials said crews were called to investigate a fire at a home on Hardee Avenue just after 5:20 a.m. Friday.
The homeowner said around 2 a.m., he heard a “pop” from inside his home. Then, the power went out.
After he lost power, the homeowner went to his truck to charge his phone and fell asleep.
Officials said a neighbor called 911 when they saw fire inside the home.
The homeowner woke up and made it out safely. While fighting the fire, one firefighter was injured after tripping over a hose in the backyard. He is expected to be OK.
Crews confirmed that the home is a total loss.
The cause remains under investigation.

my phone battery just swelled up like a balloon and started smoking one day while charging.
them lithium batteries are like that, when they go they go and often they catch fire when they go.
mine was 1/8" thick and 2"x3", it was the size of a baseball after it swelled up
